Todd Gloria Secures Three Significant Endorsements

Endorsements Prove City Council Candidate’s Broad Support

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 7, 2008) – Todd Gloria today announced three significant endorsements of his candidacy for the San Diego City Council’s Third District. The League of Conservation Voters San Diego (LCVSD), the San Diego Police Officer’s Association (POA) and Francine Busby are the latest to lend their support of Todd, showing the breadth of his appeal and continuing the momentum of his campaign.

“I am honored to have the endorsements of esteemed organizations like the League of Conservation Voters and the Police Officer’s Association and of Francine Busby. All three have been strong and consistent in their respective missions, and I appreciate their respect for me and their support of my campaign,” said Todd. “As different as each may be, the common thread is that they are committed to making San Diego a better place for all of us. I share that commitment and I will work to make that vision a reality as a Councilmember.”

Statements from Gloria’s endorsers:

“Todd Gloria has demonstrated to LCVSD that he understands and appreciates the importance of promoting environmental policies at the local level.” – Jamie Gonzalez, LCVSD President

"Todd's personal work to fight crime in his neighborhood was a key factor in our decision to endorse his candidacy for the Third District of the San Diego City Council.” – Sergeant Bill Nemec, SDPOA President

“I believe that Todd, as a life-long member of the San Diego community, embodies the diversity of the city and the constituents whom he will serve. His relationships in the community will enable him to understand and serve the personal, professional and civic needs of his constituents.” – Francine Busby, Local Progressive Leader

These endorsements, along with previously secured support from countless community members, the San Diego City Firefighters, Congresswoman Susan Davis, the Chicano Democratic Association, GLBT Vote 2008 and a variety of other organizations, prove that Todd’s deep roots in District Three, successful track record improving neighborhoods and his mastery of local and regional issues make him an unrivaled candidate and smart choice for the next Councilmember for District Three.
