TODD GLORIA'S SUPERWALK A SUCCESS
1,100 Voters Reached as Dozens of Volunteers Swarm the Streets

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 12, 2008) – Todd Gloria, Candidate for San Diego City Council District Three, led a legion of dozens of enthusiastic volunteers and connected with more than 1,100 voters during a SuperWalk on Saturday, February 9.  The SuperWalk was a massive door-to-door outreach effort to introduce Todd to voters, expanding on Todd’s own work personally spreading his message since kicking off the campaign in June 2007.

“The support, enthusiasm, hard work and sacrifice shown by volunteers are incredibly humbling,” said Todd.  “The neighbor-to-neighbor conversations and grassroots work begun with the SuperWalk are the foundations of my campaign to be the next District Three City Councilmember, and I look forward to expanding the accessibility and connections we are making now through the election and throughout my time in office.”

Of the 1,100 voters reached during the SuperWalk, five times more individuals expressed support for Todd than for other candidates in the race for the seat currently held by Toni Atkins.  Upon returning from their walks, volunteers shared their experiences and noted specific concerns they heard from voters, confirming that Todd’s priorities of strengthened public safety, improved infrastructure and expanded economic opportunities are on target for District Three.

“With dedicated volunteers, a lead in fundraising and a growing list of endorsements from important community leaders, our campaign is moving ahead strongly,” said Todd.

SuperWalks are scheduled the first Saturday of the month, and other precinct walking and a variety of additional volunteer opportunities continue through the primary election on June 3.  Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to contact the campaign office by email (Katie@toddgloria.com) or by phone (619-994-7561).
