Francine Busby Endorses Todd Gloria
for San Diego City Council, District 3

SAN DIEGO – Local progressive leader Francine Busby offered the following comments when endorsing Todd Gloria’s candidacy for San Diego City Council, District 3.

Because of the high quality candidates running in the San Diego City Council race in District 3, I have refrained from endorsing any candidate. I wish them all well and hope that they will all continue to pursuit avenues of public service.

However, I think that it is important to make a commitment at this time, when important decisions are being made.

I have decided to endorse Todd Gloria for City Council for several reasons.

First, I believe that Todd, as a life-long member of the San Diego community, embodies the diversity of the city and the constituents whom he will serve. His relationships in the community will enable him to understand and serve the personal, professional and civic needs of his constituents.

Secondly, Todd's experience in dealing with governmental issues gives him a head start in understanding not only the issues but also the importance of the process. This is important to assure that his constituents are well served and that the interests of all citizens will be thoughtfully considered in all decisions that he makes.

Finally, through his service on the Housing Commission and at The Center and other boards, Todd has demonstrated a personal commitment to service that has honed and highlighted his ability to work as part of a team toward achieving goals. This will serve him well as a member of the Council he must be both a leader and a collaborator in order to achieve progress for the citizens of San Diego.

It is an honor for me endorse Todd Gloria for City Council.
